Nilvia is a very dedicated and professional Portuguese teacher. It is very hard to find a teacher who teaches from the heart. She takes the extra effort to pinpoint the exact weakness of a student and try to customize part of her curriculum to focus on the weakness. I have been taking Portuguese classes for 6 years with various teachers and Nilvia is no doubt the best Portuguese teacher you will find in Singapore. She is professional and patient with a great personality. She can customize her teaching style according to student’s need and most of all, she’s never boring! In my experience, most of the Portuguese teachers in Singapore lack formal language training. They are native speakers but didn’t learn Portuguese as an adult foreigner. Children learn to speak by memorizing and adults learn to speak by grammatical rules. Nilvia speaks foreign languages with a deep understanding of their grammar system. I highly recommend Ms. Nilvia!

She is a very friendly and cheerful teacher. My private lessons are so fun every time thanks to her character. Every lesson will be taken at student’s place. The lessons are not business-like. She always teaches me very enthusiastically. She is from Brazil and English is also second language for her, so, she teaches very logically from the same view of the learner. In addition, she also has rich experience with Japanese students, she well understands the way of thinking of Japanese students about English. She also has working experience in global companies. She can always provide suitable subjects according to real situations of business, global management and specialized in problem solving. In standard language schools, teachers are often changed each time, but I think it is very effective to continue to learn from the same teacher like her.
